Restarting on login screen

After i install Windows Vista, i on my computer then on the logon screen, I click my user account then it loads. While loading , it suddenly auto shut down. I don't know how to repair and i don't have a DVD drive.

Mitchell--
Do you mean that your burned the ISO to a DVD--and are failing in setup? Or do you mean you used VMware like Daemon tools and are having a problem. I don't know what "I don't have a DVD drive" means. Does it mean you can't see your dvd drive or more likely you don't have a DVD writer?
Need more info.

I'm confused about how you "Mitchell Tan" <Mitchell Tan@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message

I think you mean you need to repair Mitchell. Try Win RE if I understand you correctly. If you have a DVD then boot from the DVD.
There is a promising "feature" or utility in Vista called Win RE or Windows Recovery Environment.
***Accessing Windows RE (Repair Environment):***
1) Insert Media into PC (the DVD you burned)
2) ***You will see on the Vista logo setup screen after lang. options in the lower left corner, a link called "System Recovery Options."***
3) Select your OS for repair.
4) Its been my experience that you can see some causes of the crash from the Win RE feature,
You'll have a choice there of using:
1) Startup Repair 2) System Restore 3) Complete PC Restore
Fabricant
is also a feature but I'm not sure what its status is in Beta 2/5456.5 currently.
When you get back to Vista the information on your crash is probably in this log:
Vista Drive\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.log
Good luck,
CH
